Our aim is to make infection prevention practices work in the real world.
Real patients, staff and environments often present challenges, so as well as helping your staff understand what to do we will help them identify how to do it.

WHO WE ARE
My name is Debbie Larkins and I have been a nurse since 1988 and an infection prevention nurse specialist since 2009. I founded Infection Prevention People because I am passionate that people receiving health and social care are entitled to receive that care safely and should not acquire an avoidable infection because of what our staff do or don't do.
I can also call upon a small team of likeminded qualified infection prevention nurses. Between us we have more than 30 years of infection prevention experience across the NHS and private sectors. Including acute and community hospitals, GP practices, dental, care home sector, supported community living, mental health services, military services and private business.

What we Provide
Tell us exactly what you need or allow us to observe and share with you our professional findings. The benefit of using a small business is we can tailor our service to your needs to enable your staff provide the safest possible care. We are increasingly working with independent businesses ensuring they comply with Covid safety requirements.

AUDIT
We can undertake environmental and practice audits and produce a clear, measurable action plan to direct improvements.
TRAINING
We can also meet any of your infection prevention training requirements. These can be delivered face to face, via video conferencing or using downloadable training packages.
You may wish to consider induction packages for new starters to ensure they understand your standards from the very first day, annual training updates to maintain high levels of care or request bespoke sessions to support senior staff when preparing for CQC inspections.
INCIDENT REVIEWS OR COMPLAINTS
We have extensive experience undertaking serious incident investigations and can support you and your team to recognise excellent care and to identify and address mistakes where necessary.

REVIEW CLEANING STANDARDS
We can work with you and your cleaning services to develop a safe, smooth and cost effective process. We can support self and customer audit to ensure high standards are maintained and to identify any issues early.

For Your Information
HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE?
Because we offer a personalised service you will only pay for the services you need. This does however make it difficult to provide fixed costs.
As an idea of costs if you receive a standard infection prevention training session to a group of staff, certificate of attendance and a managers attendance register and outline of session this will cost approximately £250. An on site environmental audit, report, action plan and re-audit schedule will cost approximately £400.
DO YOU LIMIT GROUP SIZES?
No we do not limit group sizes.
Some training is more effective in smaller groups but we will be happy to discuss this with you.
We must comply with Covid requirements, such as social distancing, on the date the training is delivered.
DO YOU UNDERTAKE AUDITS OR TRAIN MY STAFF TO COMPLETE THEM?
Clinical audits answer the question " are we doing the right thing in the right way?"
